Wind band instrumentation course

It is a course structured over 5 years (Three-years + Two-years).

The principal subjects are:

• Elements of organology
• Fundamentals of orchestration
• Advanced orchestration
• Principles of arrangement

Each year is organized in full-immersion weekends of lessons. The course is subdivided in Three-year course (1st - 2nd - 3rd year) and Two-year course (4th - 5th year). There is an entry test (without marking) to verify the level of the applicants and assign them to the right class/ learning year on the basis of the theory/practical capabilities expressed during the exam and related to each subject with the possibility of starting anyway from the 1st year.

At the end of the 1st year of attendance, at the teacher’s discretion, the student could have to take a confirmatory test. At the end of the 3rd and 5th year, the student must sit a theory and practical examination. Admission to the Two-year course is allowed only with a minimum marking of 8/10 obtained at the Threeyear course final examination. When necessary, the course includes also the presence of an interpreter (Italian/english).
